Fifth Ward Church of Christ Adult Bible Classes Sunday Morning (First Quarter – January, February, March) Discipling & Evangelism Class - Family Life Center - Large Room: This class equips members to teach one-on-one Bible classes, to build up and support other members, and to reach family and friends for Christ. All who complete this 26-week class will earn a certificate. Bros. Craig Curtis, Brad Whiting The “Whys” of the Christian Life – We sometimes ask, “Why me or why is this happening to me?” Bro. Phillip Alexander leads a study into the “whys” of the Christian life. Those who attend should gain a greater understanding of how God wants us to respond when things happen. Family Life Center Auditorium The MOVE Class for Men: Bro. Jamaj Hamilton encourages men, especially under the age of 40, to overcome the temptations facing Christian men today, to become active in the Lord’s work and to understand what it means to be Christian men. Family Life Center Room 210 Women of the Bible – Ladies Class: This class will study 12 women of the bible to learn how their experiences can help today’s Christian women grow in the Lord. Faith, purpose, loyalty, courage and service are some of the themes that will be examined. Sisters Darlene Randall and Candee Wilson / Family Life Center Room 201-202 The Book of Proverbs: Sanctuary Auditorium - This study examines timeless wisdom as expressed in the Book of Proverbs. Its observations of life, truths about human behavior and instruction are as applicable to living in 2012 as they were in 1000 B.C. Brothers Leroy Mobley and Barry Gibson Class for Spanish Speaking Christians: This class is taught in the Family Life Center (Room 203-204) for those who feel more comfortable studying in the Spanish language. College Age Class – Family Life Center 211: These classes are for students in college and young adults of college age. Bro. Stephen Henley, Bro. Courtney Jones The Visitors Class – Family Life Center 207: Visitors who are not members are invited and encouraged to attend this important class. Non-members will learn more about Christ and what the bible teaches about salvation. Bro. Darryl LaMott Now That I am a Christian – Family Life Center 206: This is the first class recommended for new members of the church immediately after baptism. After completing all lessons, new converts may attend the New Converts Class for additional spiritual growth. Bros. Jarrett Williams, Michael Glover New Converts Class - Family Life Center - Room 1 The class is designed for new members and maturing Christians who want to strengthen their foundation in the Lord. Bro. Leo Johnney Adult Bible Classes 2012 (First Quarter – January, February, March) Senior Adult Class – Gospel Advocate: Bro. Leonard Patterson and Bro. Jasper Muckleroy use the Gospel Advocate Quarterly in an ongoing study of God’s word. Family Life Center Room 1 The Life Class: Bro. Gary Smith applies God’s word to the many issues we face. These topical lessons will help us overcome temptations and react as Christians when “life” happens to us. Sanctuary Auditorium Discipling & Evangelism Class - Family Life Center Large Room: This is a special class to equip all members at Fifth Ward with the tools for teaching one-on-one Bible classes, building up and supporting members and reaching family and friends for Christ. Randy Shelby and Daniel Smith Why Do We Believe What We Believe: This is a study of the reasons we believe what we believe based on God’s word. The study includes the one church, social drinking, the fundamentals of the one faith and many other subjects. Bro. Ben G. Wilson; Family Life Center 201-202 The New Converts Class: This class is taught by Bro. A. W. Willis in the Family Life Center, Rooms 203-204. The class confronts challenges facing new Christians and encourages faithfulness through every challenge. Class for Spanish Speaking Christians: This class is taught in the Family Life Center Conference Room for those who are more comfortable studying and worshiping in the Spanish language. Now That I am a Christian: Room 206 This is the first bible class for new members immediately after baptism. After completing all lessons, new converts may attend the New Converts Class for additional spiritual growth. Bros. Jarrett Williams and Michael Glover The Visitors Class: Visitors will have an opportunity to understand what sets the church in the bible apart from denominations, and what Christ requires all men and women to do to be saved. College Age Class: Brothers Stephen Henley and Courtney Jones lead a study on topics and concerns relevant to young Christians of college age in the Family Life Center, Room 212. |
